There’s a bit of confusion over Windows 8 at the moment as rumors float around saying that current Windows Phones won’t be able to upgrade to Windows 8. This if true, could be the turning point for Windows 8 to really fail.
Why would it fail? Windows 8 will most likely cost to upgrade to, if people have to buy a phone on top of that, the prices get a bit iffy since most people have just moved to Windows Phones and won’t want to buy another one, who would want to pay for a phone again?
The confusion comes from a developer saying that Windows Phones will be able to upgrade. This though was translated, you only need one word to be out and the whole thing is wrong.
“People like Microsoft because they’re more open. If they turn out to be the same as Apple, it’s unfortunate,” Gartner analyst Ken Dulaney told Wired. “They’re really hurting themselves by not explaining what they’re doing.”
I agree with that statement, this whole ordeal could cause Windows Phones to not be bought, who would buy a phone now if they’ll be forced to buy another one at a later date if they want to upgrade the OS?
