Mozilla’s Boot To Gecko has now become Firefox OS. The Boot To Gecko project has come a long way in under a year, the original idea of it was to make a full mobile operating system based on open web sources like HTML 5 has finally become a serious project and has scored support from Sprint, Deutsche, Telekom, ZTE (the creators of the Alcatel phones) and more.
The product will become a commercial product in the coming months and has scored great support from many new carriers and and partners. With the portfolio that the main companies and supporters have, this is going to hopefully be a very good new operating system for mobile phones.
This could be a good competitor to at least Android and maybe even the iOS and is expected to have a release first in Brazil by the end of the year or early 2013.
