Samsung is suing LG Display, saying that seven of LG’s OLED patents are invalid. Samsung wishes to turn those patents invalid saying that they “lack innovation”.
Samsung was sued by LG Display over breaking these seven patents to do with OLED displays, back in September. LG claimed that Samsung violated the design of LG’s OLED panels, driver circuitry, and device design.
LG is wanting a permanment injunction on the Galaxy Note, Samsung Galaxy S III and the Galaxy Tab 7.7 tablet. They have also been speaking an unknown amount of money in damages.
Samsung and LG have been in a bit of trouble as well previously. In March eleven employees at Samsung were arrested on charges for stealing and leaking details to LG about Samsung’s AMOLED TV’s. Six of LG’s workers were also involved with stealing Samsung’s OLED technology.
