As we showed yesterday with the trailer, Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer is a lot to take in. So for those who don’t have an hour to watch, I’m going to summarise the features here
Dynamic Maps: Similar to Battlefield 4, there are certain parts of the maps that you can manipulate while playing. In the video, you could see a player in a bus while it was blown off the cliff. There’s also buildings you can destroy.
Perks: As it seems with every new game, the system has been overhauled. The points system from Black Ops 2′s multiplayer is now applicable to perks only. They each cost between 1 and 5, and you can choose any combination up to 8 points. There’s a mix of new and returning perks, but no more death streaks
Create a Soldier:You no longer create a class. You now build the whole soldier. The physical appearance of their soldier, including heads, body types, even gender, as well as the usual equipment (now with 30 new weapons, including the adaptable ‘marksman rifles’ which are both assault rifles and snipers) and killstreaks (there are 20 new ones, including the dog), allowing up to 20,000 combinations.
Clan Wars: A new game mode, hoping to get more players involved in the Clan side outside of MLG. Teams are paired up with other clans of a similar level, and then they ‘fight’ for 2 weeks, gaining points by winning online to gain ‘territories’, which lets you unlock camos and other accessories for ‘Create a Soldier’
Squad Modes: Another new game mode! This one is nothing like any other blockbuster shooter though. There are several different game types, each allowing you to colaberate with your ‘Create a Soldier’ characters. The first is Squad v Squad, which is 5 and your AI soldiers against another player and his squad. Safeguard puts you and your squad against waves of enemies, similar to Zombies or Modern Warfare 3′s Spec Ops mode. Wargame is the same as Squad v Squad, but against an AI team. Squad Assault is you and 5 friends or your AI team, against a team created by someone else.
Along with these new features, Infinity Ward have given gamers 2 reasons to get the game on both next-gen and current consoles. Profiles will transfer, including levels and stats. Also, any DLC will also transfer with the season pass. Similar to EA though, the transfer is within console families, so no 360 to PS4 transfer.
