With Acer not doing very well, it’s time for Acer to start pointing the finger as to why. Acer is pointing the finger even more at Windows 8, by coming out and saying that their doing better with Chrome OS than Windows 8.
“Windows 8 itself is still not successful,” Acer president Jim Wong said in an interview. “The whole market didn’t come back to growth after the Windows 8 launch, that’s a simple way to judge if it is successful or not.”
Wong said that Chrome OS’s value is “more secure” and that early adopters have been more professional and are heavy internet users. He said that corporations are also likely to show interest in Chrome OS.
“You saw that all the marketing and promotions were not as broad as Windows 8, so to reach this success is encouraging,” Wong said.
